Planning a Wedding on a Small Budget

Weddings do not have to be large to be beautiful or the memory that is cherished. There are methods to save money on the wedding while still having the perfect wedding and reception.

Many bridal magazines and websites have the timeline guidelines that will be a huge help planning the wedding. The lists have the tasks that need to be completed. When there is enough time the wedding be planned efficiently to allow for shopping of bargains for most of the wedding essentials.

When the option is to save money consider having the wedding at an off-season when the reception hall will be cheaper. Many weddings are timed so the reception is at a mealtime. Push the wedding time from 1:00 or 2:00 up to 3:00 or 4:00 which will then make the reception in between the normal meal times.

If you must have food at the reception you can save money by having the family members prepare the food instead of paying the high costs of a professional caterer. The homemade foods are better accepted for even a formal reception. Use pretty containers and platters to add to the appeal of the food. Consider having the reception at the same location as the wedding ceremony.

Shop at wholesale clubs for bulk items to reduce the costs of the appetizers and snacks. Most of the wholesale clubs offer party trays that will be a savings while still having the right amounts of good tasting foods.

Instead of buying fresh flowers consider making artificial arrangements. Buy the flowers during the year at the end of the different season to add to the savings

Consider having the wedding on a Friday night instead of the typical Saturday. The evening arrangement will lower the costs for most of the celebration as well as allowing you more time to for the honeymoon.

Keep the guest list to close family and friends. The more you invite the more you will have to potentially feed. You will also save on the wedding invitations and postage.
